Wireless configuration

Wireless LAN (WLAN) functionality makes it possible to attach 802.11 client devices to switch/router and, provided that it is properly configured, share the same LAN with wired clients.

WLAN feature provides a mean of creating more than one virtual Access Point with different Service Set Identifiers (SSID). Such approach let a user configure wireless infrastructure in a flexible way separating different security policies and settings between a number of dedicated Service Sets.

Then these Service Sets can be added to particular LAN groups separating access level between wireless clients.

All media-specific parameters like channel number, transmit power, phy modulation can be configured in PHY Setup page, which is generic for all Service Sets (SSID).

Service Set specific settings can be configured as soon as you select a Service Set from the active list.

WiFi Protected Setup (WPS) is a security feature that makes it possible for a wireless clients to obtain security credentials from Registrar, which is embedded into Access Point. As soon as security credentials are obtained a secure data channel can be organized between Access Point and wireless client.
